$ xterm Xt error: Can't open display: xterm: DISPLAY is not set

 

Do you have the xauth package installed on the remote server? You don't
need a full X install, but X11 forwarding won't work without xauth
installed.

$ sudo yum install xorg-x11-xauth -y
